As I continue to rant and rave about the upsides and downsides brought about by
modern information technology, let me continue with scrutinizing the most used P2P client programs. On this post, I would like to review Limewire and its connection with malware. After all, we should know a thing or two about the risks involved in P2P technology other than the copyright infringement policies!
Well, first of all, the most widely used P2P today would probably be Limewire. That would be because this
P2P application provides fast search results and downloads, not to mention access to the top P2P networks of the world of P2P. But, I guess you noticed a thing or two about this application's older versions. Yes, it contains third-party programs. Also, I found out that these third-party apps are malware! But, fortunately, you could upgrade to the newest version of the Limewire program to get rid of the malware from the older versions. Just make sure to uninstall the old version you have on your PC before installing the new version of the Limewire program. I don't know why the developers of this P2P client application included malware on the older versions, but I think it's probably because of certain profit-oriented issues.
