In the event of Razorback 2 site operator's arrest, I would like to make it clear that it is not the eDonkey site that was alleged illegal, but Razorback 2. As we all know, Razorback 2 is a major indexing server for eDonkey. eDonkey is one of the biggest peer to peer file sharing site on the internet. Clients from all over the world can transfer files freely over eDonkey2000.
When Swiss and Belgian police closed Razorback 2, it shouldn't mean the end of file sharing happiness for all of us folks who've done considerable peer to peer activities on eDonkey. We are merely reminded that in the global activity of file sharing, it is wise to consider that we are infringing on
copyright laws if we allow other users to access files that are simply not ours. Of course, with the freedom that peer to peer networking allows for all the users
downloading internet content, this idea seems ludicrous.
Inevitably, we reach a point where a great number of the distributed files by Razorback 2 are pirated. So really it's not the peer to peer that is the issue here. We are guaranteed freedom for
accessing files as much as we want to, but then again we must consider the line between what's ours and what's being stolen from someone else's.
