We all know that governments all over the world are trying to stop the illegal peer-to-peer networks use. The obvious reason for this is that the record artists, actors, and all their producers do not get a single cent when people download their properties with the help of illegal P2P. To stop people from using this kind of
downloadable computer software, the punishment for copyright violation is jail time.
Last year, the first individual convicted of the copyright violation was Chan Nai-ming, a 38-year-old man from the Asian country of Hong Kong. Its local officials said that he was using the P2P software BitTorrent to download movies such as Miss Congeniality, Red Planet, Daredevil, etc. online. Then, he would upload these
blockbuster movies so that other people can view and download them for free.
As punishment, he spent three long months in jail to pay for his mistakes. What happened to this Hong Kong person serves as a warning to people who keep on using
P2P networks to illegally acquire files. There is a corresponding punishment for all those people who do not follow the law and continue to violate copyright rules.
