The advent of faster internet conections brought about the development of more and more P2P applications. Plus, more and more P2P programs resulted in the creation of more and more P2P networks. I think this is one of the main reasons behind the shutdown of a number of P2P networks.
The WinMX application is still running, and it is virtually clean from malware and various spyware. It also has no bundled programs included in the program package. This is why it is one of the top options in acquiring a P2P client application. Plus, you get fast search results and downloads by using this P2P client application. It also boasts of more files to download, as well as a monitoring system to weed out potential viruses, fake files, and corrupted files. Well, this is generally because this program boasts of a large network of users, plus a dedicated team of developers who constantly monitor the filesharing functions and features of the application.
But, unfortunately, the highly appraised WinMX network has functionally been shutdown. I do not know the reason what brought about this, except for the fact that there are a number of P2P networks that can be accessed by the program. Yes, the application is still freely available for download and installation, but its network was shutdown for unknown reasons. Well, maybe this is a similar case as of the shutting down of the Napster network back then.

Peer to Peer or P2P or file sharing is absolutely coming to stay. It's too early for us to determine where all this fuss may lead. P2P is sprawling in myriad of tiny pieces. Some of it will be used for sharing technology and in the content delivery network. The rest will evaporate.
The prime thing you have to know about P2P is that the system of all business or personal users function as everybody's server which means that there is no possible method to manipulate any content that's available on a certain network. This makes all the computers weak to the havoc and distress brought by a single Trojan horse, worm, or a virus disguising as a file consisting your favorite song, and the unidentifiable attacks of hacking evils. Once a file enters the directory of file-sharing, its content would be available to everyone which makes it easy for invasive security parasites to rummage on computer networks.
To avoid this nightmare from turning into flesh, you must shut down your file sharing application if you're not using it for downloading or research. If yours give a choice to disarm sharing altogether, grab this opportunity. The other step is that you must ensure that you can manipulate the directories that you share. Select the default directory a program provides and copy all the files that you plan to promulgate, unless completely you're sure of what you're doing.

Free file sharing applications, better known as P2P programs, are readily available on the internet via file download. Such programs allow the users to share files with each other - wherever they are in the world. You just need to have a computer with an internet connection, and you're off sharing files with your friends and relatives.
In choosing the right application, you should consider the popularity of each file sharing program. This is because the availability of the files you need would depend on the number of people all over the world using the same program. Another issue would be to know which P2P application have less bundled third-party advertising software, and, more importantly, no viruses or spyware.
In addition, it would do you good to first get the information on the most popular P2P applications from reviews posted on the internet. You should keep in mind your security when it comes to sharing files - for some files contain viruses or malware. Plus, always remember not to infringe any matters pertaining to copyright laws.

Sharing indicates a good habit. If a person shares she is described as a person who has a kind heart. This is also what the P2P sharing does. Through the use of computer, a user can share files, music downloads and others that is perhaps useful to other people. This sounds good because you can now share your downloaded music to your friends as long as you are both connected to the system.
P2P is a computer program that permits every user to share files to another computer. Hence other users who have use similar soft ware can freely browse your files. That is why the security of your files will be dependent on you. There are various programs that are very famous today. These includes Kazaa, Gnutella, Morpheus and many others, yet when you download and install these rograms in your personal computer, this would mean that you are willing to let other users to take a look in your files. Since you have permitted others to freely enter you files. Hackers can now perform evil desires to your files. This is perhaps the downside of the P2P sharing because once you install a program your privacy totally vanished.

P2P is a short term for the peer to peer. Though this are just simple words, this is a network wherein the station has similar working responsibilities and abilities. This network has immediately captured the attention of the internet users worldwide.
Most of the computers at home use this kind of network. Most of the computers at home and even in the computer shops use this network. They share printers, files and others. However there is a sole one computer which acts as a server that is the storage of files.
The use of P2P network has become very popular to computers users because they are able to share files with other internet users through the internet. With this users can share even their downloaded MP3 songs to their friends. You just need to be both connected and the data that you want to share will be transmitted through the internet. To be able to use P2P, users must have to download a P2P application of client and install.

Napster is the foremost innovator of peer-to-peer file sharing. Shawn Fanning, nicknamed Napster, created this online music service in June 1999 because he wanted an more convenient way to find songs. He compressed song into MP3 files to make it easier to share and download. Music that are downloaded, is then organized and burned on compact discs.
Napster was accused of illegally distributing songs but was defended by fans, that they were just using Napster as a way to share music. Due to various intrigues and lawsuits, Napster has gone legal and now asks for subscription fees and small payments for songs downloaded.

Gnutella Networking was developed in the late 1999 by Nullsoft, the same developers of the popular media player Winamp, after it was acquired by AOL. Ranked as the second most popular file-sharing network, Gnutella hosts 1.8 million users on the average. After Napster's demise due to legal issues, Gnutella grew in popularity.
Some of the more frequently used peer-to-peer clients such as Limewire and Morpheus are both under Gnutella's network. One notable advantage of Gnutella and its clients over its competitors is that the spyware and adware threats are minimized. If a file is corrupted, a window will pop up asking the user if he wishes to continue the download or discard the file.

Through the years, P2P or Peer-to-Peer network system is one of the most popular ways of sharing large volumes of data by relying on the participants' bandwidths and disk spaces. The network has the capability of building a rich system of resource by connecting nodes. With the use of P2P technology, sharing of audio, data, video, and other information in digital format can be realized at a lesser cost.
However, there is still a lot of thing to improve with this technology. It is sometimes difficult to distribute information and resources with P2P because of the large network. In some cases, there are malicious nodes that makes it difficult to receive and send information. If many of its peers are attacking the network, the network will be rendered useless and will just fail.
